Empty nester to adult boys, one a mechanical engineer the other a math/physics graduate. My husband works for FedEx, I work for HP. I'm a software engineer, my husband is an aircraft mechanic. We love to be outdoors hiking, golfing, skiing. We love to travel and meet people. We quickly adapt to new environments and love get involved in local "projects" when traveling. Fund raiser for ALS today..we're in. We do not need handlers.

We had a wonderful time in Angelica Creole Cottage. Just a few minutes walking distance form the French Quarter this cottage is located in a very quiet neighbourhood. The cottage is a well spaced home with three large bedrooms and well equipped. We have rented bicycles and could therefore easily travel around. If we entered some problems e.g. internet code or taxi phone nr, we could easily contact Angelica and the solutions was found.

Cole

The Angelica Creole Cottage was exactly what we wanted. It's a picturesque cottage in a historical neighborhood and very comfortable, which is needed after all the partying you can do in the city. Close enough to the French quarter and perfect for spending late nights on Frenchman street. Penelope was very accommodating during the whole trip. I plan on staying at her place on my next trip to New Orleans for sure.

Hakan

Amazing house and great host. Definitely recommend Angelica's Creole Cottage! Really convenient and cute.

Ken

Penelope was a great host - everything was as she described it. The cottage was beautiful and within walking distance of many of the major sites. I would highly recommend this for anyone. A+++

Seth

Penelope was wonderful. The house was beautiful, the location was great, and she was constantly available if we had questions or concerns.

Rob

Description was very accurate. Perfect place for NOLA visitors looking for a quieter neighborhood vs the Quarter. Really enjoyed the immaculate historic duplex very close to the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street Jazz area. Three lovely and huge bedrooms with flat screen TVs very nicely furnished. Really loved hanging out on the front porch in the rocking chairs. Street parking was very easy to find day or night. Highly recommended and would stay here again.

Mar

Beautiful home conveniently located near the French quarter. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay with my family in New Orleans. Penelope was very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Diane

Highly recommended. We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful historic home (every tour guide that passed by commented on it) with all-modern amenities. Penelope was a gracious host, providing us with info about the locale and plenty of bottled water for the hot New Orleans summer (not to mention the welcome central air conditioning). The location is outstanding, just 2 blocks from Louis Armstrong Park, right across the street from the nation's first African-American Catholic Church, and a short walking distance to Little Dizzy's for Cajun breakfast buffet (yum!), Frenchman Street music venues, and the quarter. The 3 private queen bedrooms were spacious and outfitted with flat screen TVs -- not that we spent much time watching TV. When not touring and dining, we relaxed on the porch rocking chairs with an Abita brew and were entertained by Buster the charming dog-about-the-grounds.

Myron

We had an amazing stay at Penelope's. It was better than advertised. Her home is so unique and spacious. We loved it. One of my friends wanted to watch a random event on espn2; we had trouble finding it so Penelope called the cable company to make sure it was made available immediately for us. She was an awesome host.

Christy

Great place. We had a great time. Not far from the quarter. Very quiet neighborhood. Would stay here again!

Susie

Penelope was very responsive and allowed early check-in upon request. Everything was as described, and the house was a perfect space for our group of 4. The major advantages: lovely porch, quiet location but proximity to all that New Orleans has, great decoration, full kitchen, and plenty of living space. The beds were so comfy, me and my friends slept more than we expected! TV in each room. I can't say enough positive things!

Seth

Penelope was an amazing host! Would definitely stay here again the next time I am in New Orleans.

Kayla

Penelope was an attentive and gracious host. Her home is immaculate, beautiful and comfortable. We loved the location, within easy reach of so many amazing neighborhoods and restaurants. I would absolutely recommend staying with her to anyone traveling to New Orleans.

Matthew

Penelope's home was perfect in every way. She was responsive to our texts once we got off the plane and the house was breathtaking. Every room has high ceilings, TV's, comfortable beds, nice blankets and sheets as if you're staying at your grandmas house, more than enough towels for our group of 6, coffee + a coffee pot, every possible dish and pot and baking sheet you would need to cook a group dinner. The porch too! The porch has lovely rocking chairs with a view of one of Atlas Obscuara's top "Things to do in New Orleans." Highly recommend, and can't wait for our next visit.

Sandy

A beautiful, hisotric house that is very near the French Quarter in Treme. I love how close it was to Louie Armstrong Park and the African-American museum, places I hadn't thought to visit, but was glad to be able to do. The house was very clean (minus dresser drawers), the bathroom and kitchen were spotless. The keys were easily available in a lock-box so we didn't need to try to coordinate checking in or out. We could easily walk to the French Quarter and there were loads of restaurants nearby. I rented this with some colleagues for a professional conference. One of them set off the alarm and the police had to come, the other, forgot to leave the key for a newly arriving colleague, and Penelope was very kind and tolerant with our behavior. Thank you Penelope!

Justin

Very clean and in fantastic order this place sparkled from end to end. A beautiful classic New Orleans home. Penelope even included some welcome drinks in other essentials in the refrigerator - a great start! It's just a short walk in a safe neighborhood to get to Bourbon street but far enough away to be quiet. Also very close to a lovely park and the next corner has a street car so location is tremendous. Also there is a convenience store on the corner of the street.

Heidi

Penelope's home is very lovely and in the perfect location. It is on a safe, quiet, tree-lined street a few walking blocks from great restaurants, lively jazz and interesting architecture. We were able to park out front and walk everywhere from her home.

Caitlin

Penelope's home was the perfect place for our stay in Nola. The 5 of us had plenty of room in the beautifully designed home. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed and more. The location was close enough to walk to all of the main attractions in the French Quarter, but still far enough to really feel like a local in the Treme neighborhood. We loved how friendly the neighbors were each time we walked by and felt really safe walking home at night. Penelope was the kindest host and would definitely recommend anyone to stay here while in Nola.

Megan

Penelope's home is just as beautiful as the pictures make it out to be! It is a very welcoming home located just a 10 minute walk from both Bourbon street and Frenchmen Street which was super convenient! The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans/plates/cutlery which allowed us to make a full breakfast both mornings. Penelope was very accommodating with allowing my group to drop off our things earlier than check in which we really appreciated! This is a fantastic airbnb and one I would recommend without hesitation!

Hana

Lovely house in Treme. The left half of the house pictured is the unit. 3 large bedrooms connected by a hallway, and there is hot water enough for everyone. i loved sitting out on the porch! Thank you!

Joe

We had the BEST time at the Angelica Creole Cottage, and couldn't ask for a better place to stay. The house is beautiful, and unlike anywhere else I've ever stayed (I mean, just look at those pictures!). The location is close to everything, the neighborhood is quiet and serene, and there's tons of things to do 5-10 minutes walking in any direction. The space is more than big enough for any group. Stay here, you won't regret it!

Kelly

Penelope's home is beyond exceptional. However, Penelope and her family make every effort to make you feel like a valued guest. Angelica Creole Cottage is a jem with charm, location, comfort, cleanliness, and hospitality.

Cate

Penelope's home was every bit as charming as pictured. My friends and I had plenty of space, were very comfortable, and loved our stay.

Courtney

Penelope was a great host and her cottage did not disappoint! Exactly as pictured and described, and a lot of charm to be found all over. Quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors, and a quick walk to the public transportation (RTA)!! This was my mom's first time to New Orleans and she stated she wants to come back to the Creole Cottage again.

Nick

Penelope allowed us to check in early which was great since our flight was so early. Also the house was nice and cool with A/C blasting. On the table she left the house book, with fun facts and things to do which was very helpful. Bathrooms were stocked with soaps, shampoo, and towels. House layout was very cool, plenty of beds and linens. The view was great, right across the street from a famous park. It definitely made this trip exciting!

Jessica

Our stay in New Orleans was wonderful. The house was beautiful. It was clean and had everything we needed. We had minor problem upon arrival, but Penelope had it fixed right away. We would definitely stay again. Our only complaint is that there are no blinds on the back door and window that are in the master bedroom.

Annie

This is the perfect location! It was extremely close to French Quarters and Bourbon street. I had no problems walking around or calling a cab. The place was beautiful. Everything was extremely clean and well kept. Communication with Penelope was AMAZING. She was so quick to respond to any of my questions and was very accommodating. I would highly recommend this place for people with a large group.

Josh

St. Philip House was perfect for our purposes. We were a group of 6 in town for a bachelor party trip, and everyone slept comfortably in their own beds in the available room space. It might feel a little crowded if you tried to do more than 8, but there is adequate futon space available for everyone to still have their own bed. The place actually looks better in person even than the pictures, which was a nice surprise! Penelope made check in/check out easy, had some cold beverages waiting in the fridge upon arrival, and was always prompt on communication. The house is perfectly situated right near the park, and it was easy walking distance to the French Quarter and some really great places in Treme. I would definitely stay here again!

Robin

I was in NOLA on a girl's trip. The location was great. We were able to walk everywhere during the day. At night we used Uber. The house was charming. The only complaints we had were the back bedroom did not have blinds or shades and one bathroom only had a tub with a hand held shower. Penelope was a wonderful host. Any problems/questions we had were addressed immediately.

Clint

Location was great! Close to the Quarter and Frenchman street. Armstrong Park across the Street was an unexpected surprise. Free music on Thursday night. Oh yes neighbors were very friendly and helpful.

Trimaine

Penelope was a great host. The house was very easy to get to and a short walk to bourbon street.

Minh

Penelope was very accommodating and the place was very nice and accommodated all of us (8). She was very friendly and helpful. Everything we wanted to do was in a short driving distance or walk.

Kerry

Penelope's home was beautiful and the location was perfect. There is a great coffee shop one block away and getting through the French Quarter was very easy as you just had to walk down St. Philip which came out right in front of French Market. We felt safe walking to and from the house at all hours. It was an easy walk to everything in the French Quarter and Frenchmen Street (which is a must-visit!) The first night we saw a jazz parade come through right in front of the house and we were able to see a jazz funeral on Sunday. It made for an excellent New Orleans experience in Treme! The house slept 9 people pretty comfortably. The backyard patio was lovely as well as the front porch. Penelope was very quick to respond to any questions we had and went out of her way to make sure the accommodations were perfect for our group of nine. I would recommend staying at Penelope's home, it was super cute!!

Krista

Penelope's house was so beautiful and charming! It's not a far walk to the French Quarter so we walked down during the daytime and took an Uber back to the house at night. The space was exactly what my family of 5 needed for a week away. Penelope was also very easy to communicate with and she was especially accommodating when our flight arrived earlier than expected.

Hunter

Came for a bachelor party and this place was perfect for 4-5 people. Location was great, short walk or uber to most places you'd want to go. Penny even had beers, waters, and cokes waiting for us in the fridge. House is a very nice shotgun style that's been split up into two units. Only complaint I have is that there was a motorcycle festival across the street the weekend we went and they started doing sound checks and revving engines at about 7 in the morning. Made sleeping in impossible and maybe would have affected decision if we had known about it.

Faye

We totally enjoyed our Treme home. The neighbourhood is safe, quiet and the location across from Louis Armstrong Park provided the opportunity to participate in a local concert. Miss Penny couldn't have been nicer. Would totally recommend this as a great place to stay!

Ben

Penelope's house was just what my friends and I needed for our bachelor party. Even though there were 8 of us, there was plenty of space and we never felt cramped. The inside of the home is beautiful and made us feel like kings for a weekend. While the neighborhood might appear a little unsafe at first, their is a security system so I never felt like our belongings were in danger. Also the proximity to Bourbon St and the French Quarter is great if that's what you're in town to do.

Alyssa

This house was amazing. Great location - just a few blocks and really easy walk to the french quarter. The house was beautiful - very spacious with a front porch and backyard. The pictures do not do this place justice - much bigger than pictured. Lots of beds and plenty of room for 10 people to stay. There was two big futons in the living room, 2 captains bed in the 2nd bedroom (sleeps 4 easily), and then the master bedroom had a futon, a queen bed, and another cot that was comfortable. FANTASTIC!! Highly recommend.

Dana

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was nice & spacious. It had most everything we needed & the proximity to the French Quarter was great. There is only one shower though, which was a problem with our large group. I would stay here again. Nice place

Bo

Terrific house in a great location. Just blocks away from Bourbon street. "Sleeps 10" actually means 10. I was a little worried that most people would be doubling up on couches, but that wasn't the case. Lots of good couches/cots/etc...

Christel

Penelope's place was exactly the way it was described.she was super responsive to our needs.i loved the neighborhood close enough to french quarters, but really quiet.will be back soon!

Shayna

This was a great place for being close but not too close to New Orleans life. Very good quality for the price. Owner was very helpful and organized. She responded right away to our requests. Everything was nice and clean.

David

Place was awesome! Perfect for a group of 5. Location was walking distance to Bourbon st. and plenty of restaurants/bars around for pre-partying. The house was very clean and spacious, especially the master bedroom. The host is very responsive and also very nice. Recommend the property to a 5-6 person group. Definitely will visit this location again.

Mark

Quick walks to both Bourbon St and Frenchman. We had a group of 6 and had plenty of space. Would definitely come back.

Charles

Arrival instructions were spot on. The neighborhood is very safe and close to everything, and the locals are very friendly. The house is super charming and clean with all the amenities along with some sodas and Coors Lt in the refrigerator (nice touch with us being from Colorado). My only caution is that the space is listed as "whole home" when in fact it shares a wall the length of the building with an identical unit on the other side. This is probably not a big deal as long as you have friendly people staying on both sides. This was not the case for us... We came in the first night pretty late (time zone change) and were talking at a normal conversation volume, eventually went to bed. Was woken the next morning and told we had received a noise complaint and insinuated that we were having a "party". I assured Penelope that was not the case and we would keep it down. Later that day we ran into the people renting the adjoining unit and tried to explain/ apologize for disabling them and was told "yeah! I wanted to come over there and kill you" and then she stormed off. We pretty much knew what we were dealing with for the rest of our trip. To avoid another complaint or problem our group pretty much had to come in say nothing to one another and go straight to bed for the rest of the stay. In summery, your stay here can be greatly effected by those that rent the adjoining space. It is a fantastic home and neighbor hood, it"s just a gamble with the thin shared wall.

Greg

Came to New Orleans with a colleague for a week of work. We really enjoyed the location as it was a quick walk into the French Quarter and a 5 minute drive to City Park, where we were working. The place is in great shape and Penelope quickly assisted with the few issues that we had when we arrived. Would definitely stay here again.

Tom

Penelope's place is well appointed and newly refurbished. It is just a short walk from the French Quarter which I liked because it was a much quieter area. We were the first guests to stay at the property since it's refurbishment and we had a couple of issues with the washing machine and oven, however in both cases Penelope herself was at hand in minutes. She had our clothes washed and dried and delivered a new oven so top marks. Penelope really was a fantastic host. Attentive, helpful and sincere.
